Business schools representing 18 different countries have been nominated for this year’s AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards, with institutions in Mexico, India and Ireland making the shortlist in more than one category
A total of 63 business schools based in 18 different countries are in the running for this year’s AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards. The annual awards celebrate excellence in global business education, while recognising the achievements of individual students and graduates.
With separate categories for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), CSR and lifelong learning, among others, AMBA & BGA’s awards are designed to reflect business schools’ potential for impact on the world of business, through their research, initiatives and development of influential leaders and entrepreneurs.
Schools in Mexico, India and Ireland receive multiple nominations
Shortlisted schools receiving more than one nomination this year highlight the awards’ global orientation. Among them are Mexico’s Egade Business School, the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) and Ireland’s UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School (UCD Smurfit School).
The UCD Smurfit School has secured nominations in three of the awards’ 11 categories, notably for its work with Washington DC’s Howard University School of Business in the Best Business School Partnership Award. This goes alongside nods to the school’s graduates in the shortlists for the Start-Up of the Year Award and the Postgraduate Leadership Award.
IIM Indore has picked up a nomination for one of its MBAs in the coveted AMBA Student of the Year Award, as well as in the BGA Business School Impact Award. Meanwhile, Egade Business School is in the running for Best CSR and Sustainability Initiative and the Best Innovation Strategy Award for its social impact strategy and application of web-based leadership development, respectively.
The other AMBA-accredited business schools receiving multiple nominations this year are the UK’s Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, Polimi Graduate School of Management in Italy and Audencia Business School in France.
