Time: something we never seem to have enough of at work. This pathway explains how you can maximise your time by planning, setting priorities, getting things done, and much more
Many things can make demands on your time and as those demands build so too will the pressure you’re under, therefore it’s important to not only manage your time but also to set clear goals and prioritise your workload. This module will provide you with advice and guidance on how to manage your time effectively
Time-based problems always originate from someone, be that yourself or somebody else. The aim of time management is to give you more time, by avoiding unnecessary demands.
The owner of a time problem is the person who should resolve it. Owners of time problems are often different people to the sources of the problem. This course will take you through ways to deal with the owners of the time problems, help coach them to develop their management and anticipate their demands. It will help you identify the sources of time wasters and provides advice on how to effectively manage them.
Effective time planning can only take place once you are sure about what you need to achieve and your priorities have been decided. This is your final building block for managing time effectively. Time pressures come from your team leader, colleagues, customers, suppliers and you and the way you work. These are also the people who hold the key to solving your time management problems. This course helps you to develop a long term outlook to your time planning, to avoid distractions and plan for the big picture rather than your daily routine.
Effective time management will lead to more discretionary time for yourself – time where you have the freedom to decide what to do at work. This course will guide you through the basics of strategic time management enabling you to determine what things have to be done to perform well and which activities are not central to your performance.
