Following its recruitment process for a new general director, Nantes-based Audencia Business School has selected Sébastien Tran, who will take up his new position on 5 January next year. Until then, Laurent Métral, who has been president since 2016, will continue to act as interim dean
The new dean’s mission will be to continue Audencia’s development, both in France and internationally, in particular by pursuing the ECOS 2025 Strategic Plan and completing major development projects, including Audencia’s future Paris campus. He will be responsible for the school’s governance alongside Laurent Métral and Christophe Collignon, who joined Audencia in July as deputy general director.
Tran (pictured left) has been director general of the Pôle Léonard de Vinci since February 2022. He joined the group in 2017 as EMLV director and was deputy director general there from 2019 to 2022. He holds a PhD in Industrial Economics from the University of Paris-Dauphine and an accreditation to supervise management research from the University of Rouen.
He began his career with the Excelia group in 2005, where he held the positions of director of education and then academic director. He subsequently became dean of faculty at EM Normandie from 2010 to 2014, before being appointed deputy director general of ISC Paris until 2017. He has also been a research associate at the M-Lab at Paris-Dauphine University since 2006.
In other news from Audencia, its executive MBA programme has moved up nine places in this year’s Financial Times EMBA ranking, coming in at number 90; only 12 French programmes are featured in the top 100 league table.
In particular, the Financial Times highlights the quality of the professional experience of Audencia’s executive MBA participants prior to starting the programme, based on the degree of seniority in their job, the length of time they have held their position, the size of the organisation they work for and their professional experience abroad. Using these criteria, Audencia has jumped from 40th best worldwide in 2022 to 31st this year.
The school was also recognised for the international dimension of its programme, which is ranked 30th best international course experience, thanks to its two study trips. Finally, Audencia’s EMBA programme lives up to participants’ expectations with an alumni satisfaction score of 9.15 out of 10.
