School of Management of Universidad Externado de Colombia has officially received re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities in post-graduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.
Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA and recent MBA alumni of School of Management of Universidad Externado de Colombia are invited to join AMBA’s global member community of more than 60,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.
Accreditation from the Association of MBAs represents the highest standard of achievement in post-graduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation.
The School of Management of Universidad Externado de Colombia is located in Bogota in Colombia. The school is one of ten academic units at the Universidad Externado de Colombia, which is one of Colombia’s most traditional higher education institutions.
The School of Management’s academic portfolio currently consists of one undergraduate degree, one MBA programme, 12 specialist master’s programmes, a Doctorate in Administration, and a range of executive education and other extension offers.
During the accreditation process conducted by AMBA, members of the accreditation panel, representing senior management, commended the school’s modern and attractive physical facilities.
The panel also noted the enthusiastic leadership of the school, headed by Dr. Liliana Lopez. Alongside this, they mentioned the managerial orientation and commitment of the faculty, which was seen to be highly appreciated by students and graduates.
Finally, the panel mentioned the school’s commitment to sustainability and concern for the community in which they are embedded.

About School of Management of Universidad Externado de Colombia
The School of Management was established in 1965 as the School of Management and Industrial Relations. The program offered had a duration of two years and conferred the title of “Expert in Industrial Relations.”
In 1967, the Universidad Externado de Colombia received authorization to offer the professional program in Administration. Since then, the professional training program has been offered, granting the first professional title in Business Administration in 1971.
Since then, the School of Management has expanded to include 12 master’s programs, a doctoral program, and executive education, in addition to many other activities. The programs of the School are characterized by their updating, relevance, and quality.
Research projects and engagement with the environment strengthen the academic rigor of its programs and their contextualization. With 59 years of experience, the School of Management is committed to the comprehensive training of managers capable of facing the challenges of the 21st century.
The School of Management has more than 600 active undergraduate students and 1,600 students in master’s and executive education. The undergraduate program has 5,400 graduates, and master’s and executive education programs have approximately 6,000 graduates. These students and graduates successfully serve in managerial and executive positions and as entrepreneurs. Alumni are recognized in the field for their excellent academic training, human quality, service ethics, and commitment to the country.
