MBA Entrepreneurial Venture Award Finalists: César Coasaca

Continuing our series of interviews with the finalists for the upcoming AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards, today we meet César Coasaca, a graduate of CENTRUM PUCP Business School (Peru), who has been shortlisted in the MBA Entrepreneurial Venture Award (not-for-profit sector) category,  for his organisation Inventum

César Coasaca is a technological entrepreneur and engineer. He is a specialist in innovation and design of products and services. His work is focused on improving the opportunities of people in Peru and Latin America collaborating with the enhancement of cultural wealth and biodiversity for development

Have you always aspired to be an entrepreneur?

I was born in Juliaca, a small city in the Andes south of Peru, mainly dedicated to commerce and where there are no companies in which to make a career line. From a very young age I helped my family in their business, sometimes with good fortune and sometimes with difficult times. Then, with the support of my parents I moved to Lima to study. It was after working in several companies and temporarily taking care of my family’s business, when my parents could no longer do it, that I found my purpose as a human being.

This was to serve society by starting a company in which creative people can develop, be happy doing what they love and face social problems turning them into opportunities.

If you were to win this award, how would that make a difference to you and your organisation?

It would be a great opportunity to recognise the teamwork of all the people who bet on this dream and for the great purpose of changing lives through technology. The recognition would help us carry the message to more people and inspire other MBA graduates and entrepreneurs to start businesses with purpose, to help to face the challenges of the future and build a better society.
