AMBA & BGA has chosen the magnificent Portuguese capital Lisbon as the venue for the AMBA & BGA Global Conference for Deans and Directors 2022, which will take place from Sunday afternoon on 15 May to Wednesday lunchtime on 18 May 2022.
We will deliver the same high-quality standards of content, speakers, hotel, and dinner venues as we did in Venice in 2016, Dubai in 2017, Stockholm in 2018 and Istanbul in 2019 – but at the same delegate price we have maintained for over 15 years.
The Conference programme
Our speakers will include some of the world’s leading Deans and CEOs who will present on the issues most prevalent to Business School strategy. Our keynote speakers will share insights into some of the most powerful new innovations set to revolutionise management education in the ‘new normal’.
The conference will explore the following themes in depth, offering rich insight and practical advice to delegates:

On Sunday 15 May, we’ll offer a complimentary tour of Lisbon, allowing you to acclimatise yourselves with this friendly and culturally vibrant city, while having an opportunity to reconnect with contacts old and new.
Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, join us as we explore this ancient and majestic cultural hub, with a chance to network with fellow delegates informally.
We will start with a drive down Avenida da Liberdade, an important boulevard in thie city, famous as one of the most expensive shopping streets in Europe.
Our tour will take us onward to the iconic Rossio, a beautiful setting that has been one of Lisbon’s main squares since the Middle Ages. It has been the site of popular revolts and celebrations, bullfights, and executions – and is now a preferred meeting place of Lisbon natives and tourists alike.
We will make our way to the ancient winding maze of streets that make up the Alfama Quarter, which is virtually traffic free, save for the occasional Lisbon tram, that might trundle past. Here we will discover the breath-taking Monastery of Jermonimos, which was classified a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
Our tour will allow you time to relax and enjoy a world-famous Portuguese Custard Tart – before completing the afternoon with a highlight: taking in views of the Tower of Belem and Monument to Navigators. Belem Tower served as a point of embarkation and disembarkation for Portuguese explorers, The tower is often portrayed as a symbol of the Age of Discoveries, so it feels like a fitting and inspirational sight to end our tour and prepare to navigate three days of thought leadership and make fresh discoveries in management education.
Iconic dining experiences
Monday’s dinner will be hosted in the chic SUD Lisboa, one of the city’s newest ‘must-book’ venues. The evening will start with a luxury drinks reception on the stunning roof terrace, overlooking the magnificent River Tagus and the iconic 25th April Bridge.

Queluz Palace represents one of the most remarkable examples of the harmonious link between landscape and palatial architecture in Portugal. The palace’s astounding and inspiring banqueting hall will play host to our dinner, where you will be able to enjoy fine wine and dining.
